BEVERLY, Mass.- The Gordon College men's tennis team picked up five All-Conference of New England (CNE) nods, as the league office announced its end-of-season awards Wednesday.
Senior
Jeffrey Bodner (Moncton, N.B.) collected All-CNE First Team Singles honors for the second-straight year. Rookie
Santiago Diaz (Orlando, Fla.) garnered All-CNE Second Team Singles accolades while senior
Gabriel Guzman (Huila, Colombia) claimed a spot on the All-CNE Third Team Singles.
The doubles tandem of Bodner and Diaz were selected to the All-CNE First Team Doubles while
James Wellborn (Abilene, Texas) and Guzman earned All-CNE Third Team Doubles honors.
Bodner finished the season with a 14-6 record at the No. 1 singles position with a 9-2 mark in conference play.
Diaz registered a 9-11 overall record in singles matches with an 8-3 mark in league competition.
Guzman concluded the campaign with a 12-7 record at the third singles spot while owning a 9-2 record in conference action.
In doubles matches, Bodner and Diaz posted a 13-5 record at the top slot with a 9-2 mark in CNE play.
The duo of Guzman and Wellborn sported a 7-5 record on the year and a 5-5 mark in league action at the No. 2 doubles position.
Gordon finished the year with a 10-10 overall record to go with a 7-4 record in conference matches. The Fighting Scots captured the No. 5 seed in the Conference of New England Tournament and fell to fourth-seeded Colby-Sawyer in the opening round.
