Men’s Track & Field Places Third at Jim Sheehan Invitational

FITCHBURG, Mass.- The Gordon College men's track & field team finished third in the team standings at the Jim Sheehan Invitational hosted by Fitchburg State Saturday. The Fighting Scots concluded the meet behind Fitchburg State and Franklin Pierce.
 
 
TOP PERFORMANCES:
  • Elijah Wisdom shattered his own school record in the triple jump, claiming first with a mark of 14.18 meters. Wisdom's leap is the 14th-best mark in NCAA Division III this spring.
  • Paul Lynn captured a first-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal-best time of 10:13.77.
  • Peter McGinn posted a win in the 400 meters with a personal-record time of 56.27.
  • Will Hughes earned a first-place finish in the high jump as he cleared 1.92 meters.
  • Mikey Poteau placed second in the 110-meter hurdles while Josef Schultz grabbed fourth in the 5,000 meters.
  • Noah Prince and Dylan Curtis finished third and fourth, respectively, in the discus throw while Ben Rothman placed fifth in the javelin throw.
 
LOOKING AHEAD:
Gordon will compete at the Regis Spring Classic April 10.
