WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College volleyball team opened the 2026 season with a 3-0 victory over Salem State at the Bennett Center Tuesday evening.
 
 
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Gordon rolled to a 25-7 win in the opening set to establish a 1-0 edge.
• The Fighting Scots doubled their lead to 2-0 with a 25-8 victory in the second frame.
• Gordon notched a 25-12 decision in the third to secure its first sweep of the year.

 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Teagan Brideweser (Warwick, N.Y.) posted a team-high 11 kills to go with four total blocks.
• Haley Hutzler (Long Island, N.Y.) finished with six kill while Annie Zimmerman (Austin, Texas) added five kills.
• Annika Schmitt (Quincy, Mass.) registered 17 assists and seven digs on the night.

 
LOOKING AHEAD:
Gordon jets off to the Golden State to compete in the Pacific Coast Classic September 4-5. The Fighting Scots will face Chapman and Whittier September 4 before wrapping up action September 5 at Pomona-Pitzer.
