WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College men's soccer team prevailed 2-0 Wednesday night at the Brigham Athletic Complex, dealing regionally-ranked Salem State its first loss of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Gordon had an opportunity late in the first half to take a 1-0 lead but a penalty kick attempt by Luke Lindas (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) was corralled by the Salem State goalkeeper.
- The Fighting Scots got on the board in the 48th minute to seize a 1-0 edge. Andrew Lazich (Middletown, Conn.) buried his team-leading third goal of the season with a right-footed volley, snapping the Vikings' six-match streak of scoreless soccer.
- The home team tacked on a goal in the 81st minute to stretch the margin to 2-0. Will Goodling (Charlotte, N.C.) booted in a cross by Andrew Lazich (Middletown, Conn.) to collect his first tally of the year.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Luke Lindas (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) paced Gordon with three shots while Samuel Masenheimer (Allentown, Pa.) and Tim Sedaca (McLean, Va.) each added a pair of shot attempts.
- Riley Calemmo (Pocono Mountain, Pa.) managed four saves in goal to register his third clean sheet.
- The Fighting Scots finished the contest with 12 shot attempts while Salem State produced 10 shots.
