BEVERLY, Mass.- First-year Aidan Alfaro (San Antonio, Texas) of the Gordon College men's golf team has been named the Conference of New England Rookie of the Week, announced the league office Tuesday.

Alfaro carded a 73 to begin his collegiate career with a first-place finish as the Fighting Scots topped St. Joseph's (Maine) in the first match of the fall. He also shot a 77 as Gordon edged St. Anselm to move to 2-0 on the year in head-to-head action.

The Fighting Scots return to the links September 9-10 to compete at the AIC Invitational.
