Peter Amadon has served as the head coach to the Gordon's men's tennis program since 2007 and took over the women's program following the fall 2012 season. An alumnus of the College, Amadon graduated in 2004 with degrees in political studies and history. During his time as a student, he participated in men's soccer and tennis, establishing himself as one of the Fighting Scots' best at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles on the court his senior year. For his efforts he was honored to the All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Second Team and was named the team's most valuable player. Additionally, he was also an invaluable member of the Scots' club golf program.

As head coach of the men's program, Amadon has coached numerous Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Conference honorees, one CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete, has eight times earned the CCC Sportsmanship Award (2007-2014), and has had multiple players achieve spots on the CCC All-Academic Team.

Both programs have seen major strides in competitiveness during Amadon's tenure. The winningest season marks in both programs has been attained under his guidance, both during the 2015-16 academic year. The women won a program high 15 matches, while the men registered 16 victories in 2015-16. Amadon also oversaw the development of Zach Hall '16, who is a part of every record in men's program history, while also becoming the program's first CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2016. 

Amadon currently has 117 wins between the two programs. 


Outside of his coaching responsibilities at Gordon, he serves as both an assistant athletic director and the director of capital projects. Amadon is also a member of the Professional Tennis Registry and periodically helps out at the local Bass River Tennis Club by teaching at clinics and lessons. 

Peter, his wife Janelle, and their children Myles, Madelyn and Mason currently reside in Georgetown, Mass.

 Scott Donovan joins the Gordon Tennis coaching staff for the spring of 2015 after spending 2014 as the head coach for the Austin  Prep High School team in Reading. 

 At Austin Prep, Donovan was named Coach of the Year in the CCL and led the team to a league title in his one and only season. He  coached five players that received all-league honors, as well as the Player of the Year. Donovan has also worked as an assistant pro  at the Woburn Racquet Club, where he was responsible for the club's Junior Development Program (JDP). 

 For several years, Donovan served as a coach on the Salem State Tennis staff, including as the head coach from 1993-95. Donovan  is a Salem State alum (1993), where he was a four-year varsity member. He earned the NCAA Division III New England Player of the  Year award twice during his four seasons and was on the No. 1 ranked USTA doubles "B" flight team in New England in 1990. 

Donovan lives in Lynnfield, Mass. with his family.

 Dan Christensen

 Christensen was a two-year player under Coach Amadon, including acting as a captain during his senior season. He appeared in 25 matches  between his junior and senior seasons in Wenham, while attaining a 13-11  record in singles play. 

 During his time as a student at Gordon, Christensen served in a variety of roles within the athletic department, including as a student assistant for  men's basketball and sports information. He also fulfills duties as an  assistant for men's basketball and oversees game day operations setup for the department. 
 
 Christensen graduated with a degree in Economics, while minoring in Math and Sport Studies. He currently dwells in Ipswich with his wife Hannah.
