Emma Gates, a 2009 graduate of Gordon, signed on as an assistant coach for the Fighting Scots field hockey program in 2009 after participating four years in the program co-captaining the team her junior and senior seasons. During her tenure as a defender for the Scots, Gates was named to The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) First Team in 2007 and Second Team in 2006 and 2008. She was also selected to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-New England East Second Team in 2007 and 2008.
In addition to assisting with the Scots' defensive front, Gates, who obtained her degree in social work, also works as a home care case manager at North Shore Elder Services and lives in Danvers, Mass.
