Josh Thies joined Head Coach Tod Murphy on the Gordon Men's Basketball staff in the summer of 2012 after serving for several years as an assistant to the California Lutheran University basketball program.

Following his graduation from CLU in 2010 with a degree in exercise science, Thies enrolled in CLU's graduate program where he obtained a degree in education in 2012. During that time he worked as a graduate assistant to Head Coach Rich Rider, assisting with all aspects of the program including individual player development, video decomposition, drill tailoring, and statistical analysis, while also heading up the junior varsity squad.
In addition to assisting Coach Murphy at Gordon, Thies is also the supervisor of student employment for the athletic department.
A native of Leona Valley, Calif., Josh currently resides in Gloucester, Mass with his wife Carly.Â
