Trevor Hinshaw

A four-year standout both on the field and in the classroom, Hinshaw earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Academic All-Conference honors in each season as a Fighting Scot and is a Gordon College A.J. Scholar and Kenneth Pike Scholar. Hinshaw also was named to the CoSIDA All-Academic District and All-American lists for his impressive 3.97 GPA and anchoring of the Fighting Scots' defense.

Hinshaw served as team captain for the 2013 campaign and helped guide the Scots to their best season in program history with 18 wins and a regular season CCC crown. The Fighting Scots also earned an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament and won the program's first game against Eastern Connecticut State, 1-0.

The Fighting Scots outscored their opponents 54-18 under Hinshaw's leadership, allowing 0.82 goals against per contest during their legendary stretch.

"I am thrilled that Trevor will be joining our staff as my lead assistant coach.  He has left a tremendous legacy as a player here at Gordon and we are fortunate as a program to have him continue to impact the team now in a coaching role," said Coach Potteiger. "The returning players already have the utmost respect for Trevor and so in that sense the transition will be smooth.  He also knows exactly what I want on the field and so I can confidently lean on him to coach, lead, and teach right from day one.  The addition of Trevor adds to the anticipation we are all feeling about the opportunity we have starting this August."
