Scott Donovan joined the Gordon Tennis Staff in January of 2015. Scott served as the Head Boys Tennis Coach at Austin Prep HS in Reading, Mass in spring of 2014. At Austin Prep, Donovan was named Coach of the Year for the CCL and also won the league title going undefeated in league play.
Since his time at Gordon, both programs have made the semifinals in CCC tournament play each season except for one(2018). The Men’s team has amassed a 74-49 record overall with a .602 winning percentage. In conference play a 28-16 record with a .636 winning percentage.
The Women’s team boasts a 66-46 record, .589 winning percentage, while in conference play, a 30-13 and .697 win percentage.
Donovan started his coaching career at Salem State College, where he played four seasons for the Vikings finishing as the 3rd most winningest player of all time in the programs history, while amassing 72 career victories. Donovan started out as an Asst Coach in 1992 before being named the Head Coach of both the Men’s and Women’s programs in the spring of 1993. Donovan amassed a (.562) winning percentage in his 3 full seasons at SSC(93’-95’).
Donovan has also coached and taught as a USPTA Certified Tennis Professional(1993) for the past 25 plus years at various tennis clubs throughout the north shore, most notably The Manchester Athletic Club and The Woburn Racquet Club.

Donovan resides in Lynnfield, Mass. with his wife Mary, and has two daughters Kayla and Kerry.
