Hala Coker signed on to the Gordon Athletics staff as an assistant soccer coach in 2013 and was hired as a full-time women's lacrosse assistant in the fall of 2014.
No stranger to the fields of Gordon, Coker is a 2012 graduate of the College and was a four-year member of both the women's soccer and women's lacrosse teams. In lacrosse, she started all but one game for the Scots, recording 21 goals, 25 assists, and 88 grounds balls out of the defensive midfield. Serving as captain in both her junior and senior seasons, she led Gordon to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) title game in 2012 and a respectable 14-4 record overall.
On the soccer pitch, Coker was equally as steady of a presence, missing just three of 76 total games in her career while anchoring the Scots' back line and contributing four goals and 12 assists to the offense. The 2011 All-CCC Second Team selection also captained the team that same season.
For her efforts in the blue and white, she was named Gordon's 2010-2011 Female Athlete of the Year.
