On Monday junior Carleigh Petersen (North Hills, Calif.) was named Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week. On Tuesday she earned the distinction of being Gordon's Athlete of the Week!

Petersen was a force on both sides of the net as the Fighting Scots defeated local CCC rival Endicott 3-1. Petersen registered eight kills and 17 digs as Gordon topped the Gulls for the first time since 2007 and moved into second place in the CCC. In two non-conference matchups, Petersen collected 15 kills and eight digs in a 3-1 win over Southern Vermont, and recorded eight kills and eight digs in a 3-0 sweep of Daniel Webster. Petersen averaged 2.82 kills, 3.0 digs and 0.45 assists per set over the three victories.

Petersen added 11 more kills on Tuesday night as the Fighting Scots ran its win streak to seven matches and a season-high eight games over .500.
