Sophomore forward Hans Miersma (Whitinsville, Mass.) has been named Gordon's Athlete of the Week for his efforts in helping lift the Fighting Scots to a thrilling 69-68 win over non-conference Salem State on Tuesday, Nov. 20.

Miersma finished the night with an outstanding 21-point, 19-rebound double-double, hitting the game-winning jumper in the final seconds to lift the Scots to the one-point victory over the Vikings.

In two games of work he is averaging 14.0 points and 12.5 rebounds per game.

The Scots open conference play at Western New England on Wednesday, Nov. 28 and host Curry on Saturday, Dec. 1.
