Senior forward David Dempsey (Wallingford, Conn.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week and Gordon's Athlete of the Week for leading the Fighting Scots to a pair of wins in the opening week of 2013.

In an 87-46 victory over non-conference Wheelock on January 3, Dempsey netted 20 points and recorded six rebounds, three assists, and one steal. He then went on to score another 20 in an 81-67 win over conference opponent Eastern Nazarene on January 5, adding nine boards, three assists, and one block to the effort.

The Scots have now won five straight, a stretch in which Dempsey has averaged 16.8 points. Overall on the year he is averaging 13.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
