Junior Alex Nawoichik (Hamilton, Mass.) has been named the Athlete of the Week for her performance on the volleyball court over the past week for the Fighting Scots. Over three matches, Nawoichik recorded 16 kills, four solo blocks and three block assists, helping lift Gordon to a pair of 3-0 shutout wins over St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) and Green Mountain College at the Green Mountain Invitational this past weekend.
Overall on the season she has tallied 78 kills, 16 digs, six solo blocks, and 17 block assists.
Nawoichik and the rest of the Scots have a four-match week ahead, hosting Eastern Connecticut State on Tuesday, September 27 and Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opponent Curry College on Thursday, September 29 before traveling on Saturday, October 1 for a CCC matchup with Roger Williams and a non-conference face off against the Coast Guard Academy.
