After the Bears opened the match with a narrow 27-25 win behind 13 team kills, the Scots rebounded in game two with a two-point win of their own (25-23) to bring the game back to even at 1-1. Bridgewater then responded immediately for the go-ahead in game three, downing Gordon by a four-point margin (25-21) with another 12 kills in the frame.
From there, however, the Scots pulled ahead, stamping a convincing 25-18 victory in the fourth set before tallying seven kills in the deciding fifth set en route to the 15-7 win.

After UMD cruised through the opening two games, the Scots looked to be in good shape for mounting a comeback with a 24-15 lead in the third frame. Determined the close out the match in straight-sets, though, the Corsairs sailed back with an impressive come-from-behind to capture the two-point decision and overall match win.
