Women's ResultsROXBURY, Mass.—Gordon Indoor Track opened its 2014-15 season at the UMass-Boston Invitational and broke four school records at the event for the second consecutive season. Sophomore Corrine Previte (Danvers, Mass.) had the best day of any Gordon athlete, qualifying for the NCAA and ECAC New England meets with a fifth place finish in the 500-meter race.

Previte was one of the many bright spots for the Fighting Scots last season and was the lone Gordon representative in the NCAA New England race in March. She has continued to improve into her sophomore season, breaking her own school record in the 500 with a mark of 1:19.44. Her team earned her fifth overall and she was the second best Division III finisher, with schools such as Merrimack and Holy Cross competing in the invite.

After missing the end of the Cross Country season, Kasey Mann (Merrimac, Mass.) returned for the Scots and garnered a seventh-place finish in the 3,000-meter race. The "A" and "B" 4 x 400 relay teams also had strong days in 11
th and 17
th respectively. The "A" squad comprised of Previte, Leaane Beedle (Bethany, Conn.), freshman Sara Sampong and Amanda Tarquinio (Londonderry, N.H.) earned a time of 4:24.95, which was the fifth best time among D3 schools.

Sophomore Kelsey Leighton (Ellsworth, Maine) also broke her own school record with a 9.80 meter toss on the Weight Throw.

On the men's side, Neal Olson (Acton, Mass.) began his final season in a Gordon uniform by breaking his own school record in the 400-meter event. Olson was the third D-III runner to cross the finish line in the finals in a time of 52.17, which broke his record by half a second.

Freshman Damon Kilgore (Londonderry, N.H.) continued where he left off from the fall season with a 10
th place finish in the mile run. Kilgore was the top finisher in the second heat with a time of 4:32.05 and was only 12 second behind the event winner from Stonehill.

The men's 4 x 400 relay team consisting of Olson, Asher Gray (Sudbury, Mass.), Colin Smith (Uxbridge, Mass.) and freshman Noah Terry registered a 12
th place finish in a time of 3:38.09. Gray ended the day with a broken record in the 500-meter, which he had originally set during his freshman campaign. The sophomore finished ninth overall in the event with a time of 1:09.67.

Gordon is now off until after the holidays. They will travel to Dartmouth College on the weekend of January 9, 2015 for the Dartmouth Relays.Â
