Meet Results
MIDDLETOWN, Conn.—Sophomore Corrine Previte (Danvers, Mass.) broke the school record in the 200m and won the event by .04 seconds to pace a strong effort for the Gordon College track teams in the spring season opener. Due to weather the outdoor debut was moved to Wesleyan's indoor facility, but it didn't stop Gordon from a solid showcase at the Wesleyan Spring Invitational.

Neal Olson (Acton, Mass.) started off the day for the Fighting Scots with a good finish in the 200m men's race. Olson ended up tied for ninth place overall with a time of 24.56, just a second behind the winner from Assumption. Previte was one of the highlights of the day for Gordon with a finals time of 26.81 in the 200-meter event. Her time bested Joy Lima of assumption and Becky Kulak of Roger Williams by a fraction of a second.

Asher Gray (Sudbury, Mass.) performed well in another short-distance race, 400 meters, coming in seventh place overall with a time of 54.35. Damon Kilgore (Londonderry, N.H.) provided Gordon with one of its highest finishes of the day in the 3000 meter race. Kilgore split the McGowan twins from Roger Williams, coming in second overall with a time of 9:06.30. Tim McGowan won the race in 9:02.

Gordon's men's short-distance relay teams also performed well at the meet. The 4x200 squad of Gray, Olson, Colin Smith (Uxbridge, Mass.) and Noah Terry (Westhampton Beach, N.Y.) registered a third-place finish ahead of Mount Saint Mary (N.Y.). The 4x4 team of Matt Galiano-Williams, Gray, Olson and Will Deacon finished just short of Wesleyan's top-rated foursome for second place.

In the women's relays, Gordon's 4x200 meter team of Previte, Sarah Sampong (Accra, Ghana), Kelsey Briggs (Vestal, N.Y.) and Rachel Burke (Barrington, N.H.) nabbed second place.

Briggs was dominant in the field as well, winning both the long jump and triple jump events.

The Fighting Scots have two weeks off before traveling to UMass-Dartmouth for the Corsair Classic.
