The Gordon men won two events outright on Saturday, beginning with a win in the mile by freshman Damon Kilgore (Londonderry, N.H.). Kilgore outpaced the second-place finisher from Lasell by 13 seconds, while Will Deacon (Raymond, N.H.) picked up third in the event.
Flowers turned in a pair of podium finishes, including first in the hammer throw event. The senior dominated his competition with a toss of 51.87, which puts him in the top 20 qualifiers across Division III this season. He bested the second-place competitor by over seven meters. Later in the day, Flowers finished second in the discus throw with a toss of 41.76 meters.
The Fighting Scots also finished second in the 4x400 relay.
On the women's side, Corrine Previte (Danvers, Mass.) continued her excellence in the short distance events with a second-place result in the 100 meter dash. Camille Coklow of Mount Holyoke finished just ahead of the Gordon sophomore, who turned in a 12.89 result. Coklow also bested Previte in the 200-meter by .8 seconds.
Emily Caren (Warwick, N.Y.) broke the school record in the hammer throw for the second consecutive week, 38.43 meters. The toss was good enough for second place in the event. Briggs finished just short of the top spot in the long jump, garnering a finals result of 4.83 meters. Briggs ended the day with a win in the triple jump, breaking a school record in the process. Her mark of 10.24 meters beat out Richelle Ju of Smith by nearly a full meter.
