BRISTOL, R.I. —The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team punched its ticket to the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship match for the eighth straight season after a 5-0 win over Gordon College in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Semifinals.
 
Roger Williams (13-4), entering the tournament as the #1 seed, will host second-seeded Nichols College Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the CCC Championship. This will mark the fifth straight season that the two teams will meet in the conference championship.
 
Eric Laboissonniere (Cumberland, R.I.) and Ryan Swanson (West Newbury, Mass.) put the Hawks on the board first with a win at #1 doubles, defeating Mason Casady (Santa Barbara, Calif.) and Zack Hall (Sugar Land, Texas) by an 8-4 score. Kyle Bull (Pleasantville, N.Y.) and Zack Bussiere (Colchester, Conn.) stepped up next with an 8-5 win over Michael D'Antuono (Mapleville, R.I.) and Peter Godwin (Manchester, Conn.) at the #2 flight. Grant Rosenberg (Melville, N.Y.) and Jonah Schwartz (Orange, Conn.) followed shortly thereafter with a 9-7 victory for RWU at #3 against Joe Daugherty (Norfolk, Va.) and James Hawn (Southborough, Mass.).
 
Swanson brought the Hawks one point closer to victory with his 6-1, 6-2 win over D'Antuono at the #3 singles flight. Rosenberg clinched the match for RWU with a 7-5, 6-3 victory against Godwin.
 
Gordon closes out the season at 15-5.
