DUDLEY, Mass. — Gordon traveled to play Nichols in Commonwealth Coast Conference action and allowed 15 shots in its 2-0 loss.
The Bison (6-8, 2-7 CCC) came out strong in the first 15 minutes of action as they attempted five shots with two being on goal that were both saved by
Julia Altman. The Fighting Scots (3-10, 1-7 CCC) attempted their first shot in the 16
th minute as
Emily Allcroft's shot was saved by Brooke Misbach. They put three more shots on goal in the half, but they were all saved by Misbach. Allcroft's shot was blocked in the 33
rd minute to make it a 0-0 game at halftime.
Gordon came out aggressively in the second half as they attempted five shots in the first 12 minutes of the half with two of them being on goal. They followed that up by attempting four more shots in the next ten minutes of action. Nichols responded with a shot by Courteney White in the 60
th minute that was stopped by Altman. That set up a penalty corner by Erin Kelley in the 61
st minute. Kelley passed to White from the penalty corner and she passed the ball to Erin Jillson. Jillson put the ball past the keeper to make it 1-0. Allcroft and
Natalie Adamez came back and tried two shots that were both blocked in the 62
nd and 63
rd minute respectively. The Bison received another penalty corner in the 65
th minute. They used that to set up their second goal as Brianna Killborn scored off a pass from Carlee Tolley.
Emma Ellsworth put a shot past the keeper in the 68
th minute, but it was saved by Maggie Noelk to seal the victory.
Gordon next hosts the University of New England in CCC action Oct. 17 at 4 p.m.
