BRISTOL, R.I. — Gordon traveled to play Roger Williams in Commonwealth Coast Conference play and allowed 13 shots on goal in its 4-1 loss.
The Hawks (5-10, 3-7 CCC) got started quickly on offense as Elizabeth Whitney scored their first goal in the fourth minute of the game. The Fighting Scots (3-13, 1-9 CCC) responded by putting up two shots with one being on goal in the next three minutes of action. Juliana Miccile scored in the 24
th minute to put Roger Williams up 2-0. Gordon had two scoring opportunities in the 34th minute, but
Kieran Thompson's shot was saved by Mya Lunn and
Kieran Thompson's shot went wide of the net.
In the second half, the Hawks stretched their lead to three goals with a goal by Gabby Masciarelli in the 40
th minute.
Sabrina Jandreau scored in the 45
th minute to make it a 3-1 game. Gordon kept up the pressure as they attempted seven shots the rest of the half, but the four that were on goal were all stopped by Lunn. Lea Peterson scored the Hawks' fourth goal in the 69
th minute to close out the game.
The Fighting Scots next travel to take on CCC opponent Endicott Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.
