WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted Nichols in Commonwealth Coast Conference play and recorded 38 kills in its 3-0 victory.

The Fighting Scots (15-11, 4-5 CCC) won the first set 25-9 as they posted 13 kills and a .308 hitting percentage. They started the set with a 7-1 run before the Bison (3-25, 0-9 CCC) scored four in a row to cut the lead to two points. Gordon outscored them 18-4 the rest of the way to win the set.

In the second set, the Fighting Scots took the set 25-13 as they recorded 18 kills and a .567 hitting percentage. Mackenzie Hinds recorded seven of those kills along with three digs in the set. Gordon built an early 7-2 lead before outscoring Nichols 18-11 the rest of the way to take the set.

The Fighting Scots won third set 25-10 as they recorded eight aces, including a career-high six by Sophia Scola. The teams traded points back and forth to start the set until they were tied 9-9. Gordon then scored 12 points in a row to take a 21-9 lead. They scored four out of the next five points to win the set and the match.

Hinds recorded 15 kills and four digs. Jamie Tafoya had six kills and one ace. Meghan Hokanson tallied five kills and four aces. Ashlyn Gergins recorded 30 assists, five digs, and three aces.

Hinds now has 301 kills on the season which breaks her career-high of 285 from the 2015 season.

The Fighting Scots next host Regis for Senior Day Oct. 28 at 1 p.m.
