SALEM, Mass.—Salem State opened up on their home court for the first time this season with a 9-0 loss to Gordon College. The Vikings are now 0-2 on the year while the Fighting Scots improve to 8-4.

Gordon swept through doubles play with
Mason Casady (Santa Barbara, Calif.)/
Peter Godwin (Manchester, Conn.) and Mike D'Antuono (Mapleville, R.I.)/
Eric Kim (La Crescenta, Calif.) leading the way at first and second doubles respectively. Casady and Day defeated Matt Mogren (Newburyport, Mass.)/Mitchell Dyer (North Attleboro, Mass.), 8-1 while D'Antuono and Kim defeated Chen Chen (Lawrence, Mass.)/Noah Hodgkins (Winthrop, Mass.), 8-2.

Casady picked up a win at first singles in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0 over Mogren while Chen played D'Antuono tough in a competitive second set before losing 7-6. Kim earned a 6-2, 6-3 win over Dyer at third singles while Godwin won 6-0, 6-1 over Luke Hodgkins at fourth singles as Gordon did not lose a set.

Kris Marineau (Auburn, N.H.) and
Caven Bell (Long Valley, N.J.) were also pefect on the day with an 8-6 win at third doubles and wins at the bottom two singles flights.

Salem State hosts Western Connecticut in their Little East opener on Saturday, Aril 1 at the Northeast Tennis Center in Middleton, Mass. Gordon travels to Salve Regina for a 12:00 PM start on Saturday.
