NEW LONDON, Conn.—Gordon Track and Field completed a weekend at the Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College with some great results. Facing some of the best competition in the region across all levels, both programs scored points to earn top 20 performances.

Junior
Matt Jaeger (Ipswich, Mass.) scored three of Gordon's four points on the day with a sixth-place showing in the triple jump. In his final try of the day, Jaeger passed his previous high by nearly a half meter and put himself just a few feet off the program record.

Freshman
Sebastian Toro (Queens, N.Y.) earned the men's final point of the day with eighth in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 11:29.38.

On the women's side,
Corrine Previte (Danvers, Mass.) had one of the best performances of any Gordon athlete. She finished third overall in the 200m race with a time of 27.60. She finished just a split second behind the leader from Trinity College.

Just a few events later, Previte was at it again and improved her standing by one in the 400 meter. The senior sprinter grabbed second in a competitive sixth heat by finishing just over a minute's time.

Maddie St. Julien (Wareham, Mass.) was the final competitor to claim a point result individual competition. As Gordon did on the men's side, St. Julien received points in the triple jump, finishing seventh.

Gordon's 4 x 400 relay was the final score of the day, registering eighth.

The Fighting Scots have two weeks off before the Commonwealth Coast Conference championships on April 29
th.
