Scots Show Well at New England Championships

Meet Results
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.—A trio of Gordon athletes put the Fighting Scots on the scoreboard on both sides of the NCAA Division III New England Championships hosted by Williams College this weekend. Corrine Previte (Danvers, Mass.) and Damon Kilgore (Londonderry, N.H.) combined for three all-region performances to lead the Scots.

Previte had been building to a strong finish of her final season in navy and did so with a fifth-place mark in her first event on Saturday. The senior ran a full second below her seeded time in the 400, crossing the finish line in 57.59 to net four points for the Fighting Scots.

She did not stop there, as only a few events later the sprinter shaved off a few points of a second off her own Gordon record in the 200m. Despite windy conditions, Previte flashed the speed down the stretch to grab eighth with a time of 25.46.

Maddie St. Julien finished 19th and 21st in the triple jump and long jump respectively.

As Gordon's only male constituent, Kilgore did all he could to nab three points for the Scots. The junior finished just a hair off a fourth-place finish and settled for sixth overall in the 5,000 with a time of 15:03.75—well above his seeded mark of 15:26.58. That smashed the previous school record in the event, which Kilgore set earlier in the year.
