SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Gordon allowed 29 shots in its 7-4 loss at Western New England.
The Fighting Scots (2-4, 1-3 CCC) got on the board first in the 14
th minute as
Mackenzie Gray scored off a pass by
Emily Allcroft. The Golden Bears (4-3, 2-2 CCC) tied the game at 1-1 in the 23
rd minute. They added another goal in the 31
st minute to take a one-goal lead going into halftime.
In the second half,
Sabrina Jandreau tied the game at 2-2 with a goal that was assisted by Gray. Allcroft gave the Fighting Scots the lead again as she scored a goal off a pass by Gray in the 47
th minute. The Golden Bears tied the game at 3-3 with a penalty stroke goal less than a minute later. Gordon regained the lead for the last time in the 50
th minute as
Emma Ellsworth scored off a pass from Allcroft. Western New England tied the game again in the 52
nd minute and scored three more goals the rest of the way to seal the win.
Julia Altman recorded 12 saves.
The Fighting Scots next host Roger Williams Sept. 30 at 11 a.m. for their Homecoming game.
