WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon posted a .184 attack percentage in its 3-0 loss to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The Engineers (5-0) won the first set 25-20, the second set 25-16, and the third set 25-20.
In the first set, the Fighting Scots (2-2) were down 22-15. They almost rallied to win the set as they scored five points in a row before giving up three straight points to MIT.
In the second set, the teams traded points until they were tied 9-9. The Engineers closed out the set with a 16-7 run.
In the third set, MIT was up 22-15 and Gordon went on another five consecutive point run before the Engineers closed out the match with three straight points.
Amanda Snyder had 14 kills and seven digs.
Mackenzie Hinds recorded eight kills and seven digs.
Ashlyn Gergins tallied 24 assists and seven digs.
Jenny Curtiss had ten digs and three assists.
The Fighting Scots next travel to face Johnson & Wales in their first game of the JWU Invitational Sept. 8 at 4 p.m.
