BRISTOL, R.I. — Gordon traveled to play Roger Williams in CCC play and grabbed 47 rebounds in its 87-83 win.
The Fighting Scots (10-5, 6-2 CCC) started the game on a 21-8 run in the first six minutes of action for a 14-point lead. The Hawks (11-4, 5-3 CCC) cut the lead to eight points with a 11-7 run. Gordon built the lead back up to 14 points with a 13-7 run to close out the first half and make it a 45-31 game at halftime.
Garrisson Duvivier recorded ten points, seven rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals in the first half.
Eric Demers scored ten points, grabbed four rebounds, and recorded two steals.
Jaren Yang scored six points and dished out three assists.
Roger Williams gained the lead for the first time in the game with a 24-9 run to start the second half. They stretched the lead up to four points with 3:38 left in the half. The Fighting Scots regained the lead with 1:22 left on a jumper by Yang, a three-pointer by Demers, and a layup by Duvivier. The Hawks regained the lead with 58 seconds left with a layup by Austin Coene. Demers gave Gordon the lead right back with a three-pointer with 43 seconds left. They outscored Roger Williams 4-2 and held them without a field goal the rest of the way to seal the win.
Duvivier finished with a season-high 28 points. He also grabbed 18 rebounds, dished out five assists, blocked three shots, and recorded two steals. Demers scored 20 points and tied his career-high with eight rebounds. Yang scored ten points, dished out seven assists, and grabbed four rebounds.
Duvivier now ranks 13
th in school history with 1,170 career points.
The Fighting Scots next travel to play Western New England in CCC action Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
