Golden Bears Take Down Scots

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Gordon traveled to play Western New England in CCC play and allowed them to shoot 54.4 percent from the field in its 101-83 loss.

The Golden Bears (7-8, 4-5 CCC) started the game with a 19-10 run for a nine-point lead. They stretched the lead out to 16 points with a 17-10 run. The Fighting Scots (10-6, 6-3 CCC) cut the lead down to 11 points with a 14-9 run to make it a 45-34 game at halftime.

Garrisson Duvivier scored 12 points, grabbed eight rebounds, dished out three assists, and blocked two shots in the first half. Jaren Yang scored eight points, handed out two assists, and recorded two steals.
Gordon cut the deficit to five points with a 15-10 run in the first three minutes of the second half. Western New England responded by going on a 26-8 run to stretch the lead out to 23 points. The Fighting Scots
cut the lead down to 13 points with 1:29 left before Western New England scored six points the rest of the way to seal the win.

Eric Demers finished with 27 points and one assist. Duvivier recorded his 11th double-double of the season with 26 points and 17 rebounds. He also had five assists and two blocks. Yang scored 14 points and dished out six assists.

Gordon next goes on the road to finish their season series against Curry Jan. 20 at 3 p.m. The Fighting Scots won the first game of the season 86-66 at home.
