MILTON, Mass. — Gordon went on the road to take on Curry in Commonwealth Coast Conference play at Katz Gymnasium and grabbed 49 rebounds in its 84-70 victory to sweep the season series.
The Fighting Scots (11-6, 7-3 CCC) started the game with a 9-2 run for seven-point lead. The Colonels (1-16, 0-10 CCC) regained the lead with a 12-5 run for a two-point lead. Gordon went on a 25-11 run in the ten minutes of the half to make it a 37-25 game at halftime.
Eric Demers scored 12 points and grabbed four rebounds in the first half.
Garrisson Duvivier recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The Fighting Scots held Curry to 27.8 percent from the floor in the half.
Gordon stretched the lead to 26 points with a 21-7 run to start the second half. The Colonels cut the lead down to 13 points with a 19-6 run with 6:06 left. The Fighting Scots built the lead back up to 21 points with 2:57 left and then Curry made four three-pointers to close the gap to 14 points by the end of the game.
Duvivier finished with a career-best 20 rebounds. He also scored 16 points, blocked three shots, and handed out three assists. Demers scored 25 points, pulled in six rebounds, and dished out two assists.
Matt Valles handed out a career-high three assists.
Duvivier is now 12
th in school history with 1,212 career points. He is now 20 points behind Michael Herr (2003-07) for the 11
th spot.
Gordon next hosts the University of New England in CCC action Jan. 24 at 5:30 p.m. The Nor'easters won the first game of the season series 121-113 at home.
