WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted the University of New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Bennett Center and made a season-high 18 three-pointers in its 126-108 win to split the season series.
The Fighting Scots (12-6, 8-3 CCC) started the game with a 26-19 run for a seven-point lead. The Nor'easters (8-10, 6-5 CCC) took a four-point lead of their own with a 30-19 run. Gordon closed out the last six minutes of the half with a 17-7 run to make it a 62-56 Fighting Scots lead at halftime.
Eric Demers scored 20 points and dished out two assists in the first half.
Garrisson Duvivier scored ten points, grabbed eight rebounds, and blocked two shots.
Parker Omslaer scored eight points and pulled in three rebounds.
The University of New England cut the deficit down to four points in the first two minutes of the second half. Gordon stretched the lead back out to 11 points with a 15-8 run. The Nor'easters cut the lead down to five points twice, but the Fighting Scots responded by outscoring them 42-29 in the last 12:23 to seal the win.
Demers was one of five players to score in double-digits and led the team with career-highs in points with 37 and in three-pointers with seven. He also dished out three assists and blocked three shots. Duvivier recorded his 11
th double-double of the season as he scored 18 points and pulled in 15 rebounds. He also blocked four shots, handed out three assists, and recorded two steals.
Josh Crutchfield dished out a career-high eight assists and Omslaer finished with a career-high ten points.
Gordon next hosts Nichols in CCC play Jan. 27 at 3 p.m. The Bison won the first game of the season series 100-86 at home.
