MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — Gordon's women's track & field team opened their spring season at the Wesleyan University Spring Classic and posted ten top-ten finishes at the meet.
Angie Epplett won the 5000 meters in 19:34.35.
Maddie St. Julien won the triple jump with a leap of 10.11 meters. She also placed sixth in the long jump with a jump of 4.56 meters.
Hannah Johnson finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 9.45 meters and sixth in the high jump as she cleared the bar at 1.44 meters. The 4x400-meter relay team of
Taemar Shearer, St. Julien,
Katherine Jesson, and
Mikaela Fleenor placed fourth in 4:35.74.
Sinead Miller finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles in 11.30 and seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 7.75 meters.
Mackenzie Hinds placed sixth in the 800 meters in 2:35.09 while
Shineika Fareus finished ninth in 2:38.37.
Ariana Stanberry placed seventh in the 60-meter hurdles in 11.43.
Fleenor was the top finisher in both the 100 meters and 200 meters in 14.60 and 29.95 respectively.
Louisa Dodds placed 13
th in the 1500 meters in 5:28.29.
Rachael Farah finished 17
th in the 400 meters in 1:09.14.
Amanda Page placed 17
th in the shot put with a throw of 7.20 meters.
The Fighting Scots next compete at the Tufts Snowflake Classic March 31.
