Gulls Fly Past Scots

BEVERLY, Mass. Gordon traveled to play Endicott in Commonwealth Coast Conference play at Hempstead Stadium and put 12 shots on goal in its 18-7 loss.

The Gulls (4-8, 4-1 CCC) struck first in the second minute with a goal by Cole McGarrigle. Xander Miller tied the game at 1-1 for the Fighting Scots (4-7, 0-4 CCC) with a goal 42 seconds later. They took a 3-2 lead with goals by Miller and Nick Palandjian. Endicott responded by scoring three straight goals to take a 5-3 lead. Austin Early scored with 31 seconds left in the first quarter to cut the lead to one goal. The Gulls started the second quarter with four straight goals to take a 9-4 lead. Early scored with 1:08 left in the first half to make it a 9-5 game at halftime.

In the second half, Endicott scored two goals in the first nine minutes to take a 11-5 lead. Early scored 39 seconds later off a pass from Nick Palandjian to cut the deficit to five goals. That would be the closest the game would get as the Gulls outscored Gordon 7-1 the rest of the way to clinch the victory.

Early led the team with four goals. Miller scored two goals while Palandjian dished out one assist and scored one goal. Karl Deckert tied his career-high with five ground balls.

Jay Gallipo recorded seven saves and faced 44 shots.

The Fighting Scots next host Wentworth in CCC action April 14 at 3 p.m.
