WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted Nichols in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at J. Tec White Field and picked up its second straight CCC series sweep with its 4-3 and 9-8 wins.
In game one, the Fighting Scots (13-10, 5-2 CCC) struck first in the bottom of the first inning as
Christian Hodge singled to right field and
Addison Tarr scored off an error by the right fielder. The Bison (7-20, 1-4 CCC) tied the game in the top of the third with an RBI single by Cam Cook. They added another run in the top of the fourth as Chris Anderson scored off an error by the right fielder. In the top of the fifth, Gordon regained the lead with a three-run home run by Hodge to take a 4-2 lead. Shay Souza cut the deficit to one run in the top of the sixth with an RBI single. The Fighting Scots sealed the win by forcing two fly outs and a ground out in the top of the seventh.
Hodge went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and one run. Tarr batted 1-for-2 with two runs.
Derek Hudson pitched all seven innings and allowed one earned run off of eight hits and recorded three strikeouts.
In game two, Nichols scored three runs in the first two innings for a 3-0 lead. Gordon tied the game in the bottom of the second with a solo home run by
Erik Gauer, an RBI single by Tarr that scored
Matt Moffat, and an RBI single by Hodge that drove in
Joseph Mack. They added four more runs in the bottom of the fourth to make it a 7-3 game. Kyle Bouchard cut the lead to two runs with a three-run home run in the top of the sixth. The Bison scored two runs in the top of the seventh to the tie game at 8-8. The Fighting Scots put two runners on base with one in scoring position and two outs.
Alec Willey hit a walk-off single to right field to score
Daniel Quint and clinch the victory.
Tarr batted 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Gauer went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
John Lagerfeldt batted 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run.
Garrett Poole pitched all seven innings and struck out four batters.

Gordon next travels to play Emerson in non-conference play April 18 at 7 p.m.
