BROCKTON, Mass. — Gordon traveled to play Emerson in non-conference play at Campanelli Stadium and allowed three hits in its 7-2 win to split the season series.
The Lions (7-20) got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning as Joey Jacobs scored off of a fielder's choice. The Fighting Scots (14-10) took a 3-1 lead in the top of the third as
Daniel Quint drove in
Addison Tarr with a triple, Quint scored off a wild pitch, and
Erik Gauer scored
Christian Hodge with a double. They added four more runs in the top of the sixth to stretch the lead to six runs. Jacobs drove in Ethan Young with a single in the bottom of the seventh to make it a 7-2 game. Gordon did not allow a hit in the final two innings to clinch the win.
Tarr batted 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Quint went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and one run.
Drew McCormack started the game, pitched two innings, and struck out three batters.
Noah Henkell picked up his third win of the season as he pitched five innings of relief and struck out a career-high five batters.
Timothy Oh and
Sam Sheldon combined to pitch two innings of relief and allowed zero hits.
The Fighting Scots next travel to play Roger Williams in Commonwealth Coast Conference play April 21 at 12 p.m.
