NEW LONDON, Conn. — Gordon's women's track & field team competed in the Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College and had two relays post top-ten finishes at the meet.
The 4x800-meter relay team of
Mackenzie Hinds,
Kara Polsgrove,
Katherine Jesson, and
Louisa Dodds placed ninth in 10:43.49. Â The 4x100-meter relay team of
Maddie St. Julien,
Mikaela Fleenor,
Ariana Stanberry, and
Shineika Fareus finished tenth in 54.91.
Maddie St. Julien finished 11
th in the triple jump with a leap of 10.07 meters and 11
th in the long jump with a jump of 4.69 meters.
Hannah Johnson placed 13
th in the high jump as she cleared the bar at 1.54 meters, which qualified her for the New England Championships.
Amanda Page finished 17
th in the pole vault as she cleared the bar at 2.50 meters.
Julia Drewicke placed 18
th in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 12:46.90.
Sinead Miller led Gordon in the 400-meter hurdles with a 20
th place finish in 1:17.27 and 40
th in the hammer with a toss of 27.65 meters.
Mackenzie Hinds finished 25
th in the javelin with a toss of 23.58 meters and 32
nd in the 400 meters in 1:07.92.
Ariana Stanberry placed 29
th in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.86.
Angie Epplett finished 33
rd in the 5000 meters in 19:20.57.
Amanda Poulin placed 41
st in the discus with a throw of 21.11 meters.
Shineika Fareus finished 42
nd in the 800 meters in 2:30.65. Page also placed 47
th in the shot put with a toss of 7.75 meters.
Jordanne Hamilton finished 58
th in the 100 meters in 15.51.
Kayla Kroning placed 61
st in the 1500 meters in 5:20.15. Fleenor also finished 63
rd in the 200 meters in 30.21.
The Fighting Scots will next compete at the Sean Collier Invitational hosted by MIT April 21.
