WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted Pine Manor in non-conference play at J. Tec White Field and recorded ten hits in its 17-1 victory.
The Fighting Scots (17-12) got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning as they scored four runs.
Daniel Quint hit solo home run,
John Lagerfeldt singled to left field to score
Christian Hodge, and two runners scored off an error by the second baseman. Hodge drove
Addison Tarr in with a sacrifice fly to right field in the bottom of the second to make it a 5-0 game. They added five runs in the bottom of the fourth to stretch the lead to ten runs. In the bottom of the sixth,
Alex Park was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score Lagerfeldt to give Gordon an 11-0 lead. The Gators (6-16) scored one run in the top of the seventh as Brian Jones grounded into a double play that scored Jonathan Higgenbotham to make it an 11-1 game. The Fighting Scots closed out the game by scoring six runs in the bottom of the eighth.
Hodge went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs. Quint batted 2-for-3 with three RBIs, two runs, and a double. Lagerfeldt went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs.
Noah Henkell started the game, pitched six scoreless innings, and had one strikeout.
Gordon next travels to take on Salve Regina in Commonwealth Coast Conference action April 27 at 2 p.m.
