WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted Colby-Sawyer in its home opener at the Brigham Athletic Complex attempted six shots in its 3-2 loss.
The Chargers (2-0) got on the board first in the tenth minute with an unassisted goal by Alie Jones. They kept up the pressure as they attempted three shots in the next 20 minutes with all three being on goal. The Fighting Scots (1-1) got on the board in the 32
nd minute as
Sabrina Jandreau tied the game off a pass from
Megan Gordon. Colby-Sawyer had one more scoring opportunity in the 32
nd minute with a penalty corner, but were unable to put up a shot to make it a 1-1 game at halftime.
Jandreau gave Gordon a 2-1 lead in the 42
nd minute for her fourth goal of the season. Both teams combined for six shots in the next 26 minutes with three being on goal. The Chargers then sealed the win by scoring two goals in the last three minutes of the game. They also held the Fighting Scots without a shot in the last eight minutes of play.
Julia Altman recorded four saves and faced 11 shots.
Gordon next hosts Elms in non-conference play Sept. 3 at 2 p.m.
