Scots Shutout Blazers

WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted Elms in non-conference play at the Brigham Athletic Complex and did not allow a shot in its 2-0 win.

The Fighting Scots (2-1) started off the first half aggressively on offense as they attempted three shots in the first ten minutes of action. They put their first shot on goal in the 16th minute as Paige Blake's shot was stopped by Nora Newman from Elms (0-2). Gordon attempted eight more shots in the half, but were unable to find the back of the next to keep the game at 0-0 entering halftime.

In the second half, Rosalind Keeley broke the tie in the 47th minute when she received a pass from Emma Ellsworth on the right side and put it past the keeper on the left side. The Fighting Scots continued to put pressure on the Blazers' defense as they had seven penalty corners in the next 20 minutes of play. Sabrina Jandreau scored her fifth goal of the season in the 66th minute off a pass from Ellsworth to make it a 2-0 game. Gordon maintained possession for much of the last four minutes of the game to seal the victory.

Ellsworth dished out a career-best two assists in the game. She now has three on the season after recording two assists last season.

The Fighting Scots next host MIT in non-conference action Sept. 5 at 6 p.m.
