WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted No. 11 MIT in non-conference play at the Brigham Athletic Complex and allowed 19 shots in its 7-1 loss.
The Engineers (3-0) dominated possession for much of the first half as they attempted seven shots to just one shot for the Fighting Scots (2-2). MIT got on the board in the 22
nd minute with a goal by Bailey Tregoning assisted by Devon Goetz. They added two more goals in the next 13 minutes to make it a 3-0 game at halftime.
In the second half, the Engineers kept up the pressure as they put nine of their 12 shots on goal. They added two more goals in the first 20 minutes of the half before
Caroline Conte put Gordon on the board in the 61
st minute off a pass from
Cara Goudie. MIT closed out the game by scoring two more goals in the next three minutes of action.
Julia Altman recorded five saves and faced 19 shots.
Briana Kowolenko her second defensive save of the season.
The Fighting Scots next host Thomas in non-conference action Sept. 8 at 1 p.m.
