STANDISH, Maine — Gordon traveled to play Saint Joseph's College of Maine in non-conference action at the SJC Athletics Complex and attempted four shots in its 7-0 loss.

The Monks (4-0) scored three goals in the first half with two of them coming in the first 12 minutes of action. The Fighting Scots (2-4) put two shots on goal in the 24^th minute with one being saved by Megan Baker and the other one being stopped with a defensive save by Morgan Dalton. Saint Joseph's held them without a shot the rest of the half to make it a 3-0 game at halftime.

In the second half, the Monks attempted 15 shots and scored four more goals. Gordon put up two more shots with Paige Blake's shot in the 54^th minute being saved by Baker and Amanda Poulin's shot in the 62^nd minute was blocked. Saint Joseph's did not allow a shot the rest of the way to seal the victory.

Julia Altman recorded eight saves in the first half and Jasmine Rosa recorded a career-high five saves as they faced 31 shots in total.

The Fighting Scots next travel to take on Endicott in their CCC opener Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. The Gulls won both matchups against Gordon last season.
