WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted Wentworth in Commonwealth Coast Conference play for Homecoming and attempted 23 shots in its 4-0 victory.
The Fighting Scots (6-4, 2-0 CCC) first got on the board in the 16
th minute as
Luckson Dambo scored off a pass from
Ian Burkhart. He added another goal in the 34
th minute that was assisted by
Travis Singh to stretch the lead to two goals. The Leopards (5-5-1, 1-1 CCC) attempted eight shots in the first half with three being on goal. They were all saved by
Wesley Sprague to keep the game at 2-0 entering halftime.
In the second half,
Tyler Modzeleski scored off a pass from
Jarvin Ramirez in the 52
nd minute to put Gordon up 3-0.
Joshua Winnett scored his first career goal in the 70
th minute off a pass from
Nate Boyer to stretch the lead out to four goals. Wentworth attempted four shots in the last 20 minutes of play with two of them being on goal. They were both stopped by Sprague to seal the win.
Sprague recorded double-digit saves for the second time this season as he had ten saves and faced 18 shots.
The Fighting Scots next travel to take on Western New England in CCC action Oct. 6 at 1:30 p.m.
