WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted Rivier and Maine-Presque Isle for a tri-match on Homecoming at the Bennett Center and split the day with a 3-1 loss and a 3-0 victory.
In the first match, the Fighting Scots (9-8) won the first set 25-21 over the Raiders (12-5).
Jamie Tafoya recorded three kills and one solo block in the set.
Mackenzie Hinds and
Jenny Curtiss both tallied four digs.
Rivier won the second set 25-14 as they recorded 13 kills and a .273 hitting percentage.
Ashlyn Gergins and Tafoya both recorded two kills. Curtiss tallied seven digs in the set.
The Raiders took the third set 25-23 with 13 kills and a .229 hitting percentage. Hinds and
Amanda Snyder both recorded three kills. Curtiss tallied seven of the 16 digs the Fighting Scots recorded in the set.
Rivier won the fourth set 25-20 and the match 3-1 as they recorded match-highs of 15 kills and a .314 hitting percentage. Hinds recorded five digs and four kills in the set. Tafoya had four kills and one block assist. Gergins dished out nine assists and had two digs.
Tafoya led the team with 11 kills and also had four digs. Hinds posted a double-double with 12 digs and ten kills. Gergins tallied 33 assists, five digs, and four kills. Curtiss led the team with 24 digs.
In the second match, Gordon won the first set 25-12 over the Owls (7-8) with a match-high 17 kills and a .500 hitting percentage. Hinds recorded seven kills in the set.
Marla Batson and Tafoya both notched four kills.
Sophia Scola tallied four digs and three aces. Gergins dished out 16 assists and had two digs.
The Fighting Scots took the second set 25-8 with ten kills and a .400 hitting percentage. Hinds recorded five digs and four kills. Tafoya tallied three aces, two digs, and one dig.
Gordon won the third set 25-15 and the match 3-0 as they recorded 12 kills in the set. Hinds recorded four kills and one dig. Jordon Shaduk tallied two kills, two digs, and one block assist. Gergins dished out 11 assists in the set.
Hinds recorded a season-high 15 kills and also had six digs. Tafoya tallied eight kills and five aces. Gergins dished out 33 assists and also had four digs.
Hayley Robinson led the team with 11 digs.
The Fighting Scots next travel to take on CCC opponent Endicott Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.
