WILLIMANTIC, Conn. — Gordon traveled to play Eastern Connecticut State in non-conference play at Nevers Field and attempted 11 shots in its 2-0 loss.
The Warriors (3-0) got on the board in the 14
th minute with a goal by Patrick Agyemang off a pass from Jackson Trierweiler. They added another goal as Will Toomey received a pass from Griffin Luczek and scored in the 19
th minute. They did not allow the Fighting Scots to attempt a shot until the 35
th minute as
Joshua Winnett's shot went high of the net.
Tyler Modzeleski put a shot on goal in the 41
st minute that was saved by Ryan Murphy to keep the game at 2-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Gordon upped the pressure on offense as they attempted eight shots in the half with two being on goal.
Ian Burkhart and
Noah Craig put shots on goal in the 75
th and 79
th minute, but both were stopped by Murphy. Craig also had a shot in the 86
th minute that went high of the goal. The Fighting Scots had one more opportunity as
Jarvin Ramirez had a corner kick in the 88
th minute, but they were unable to put another shot up the rest of the game.
Wesley Sprague recorded five saves and faced 17 shots.
Gordon hosts Colby in non-conference action Sept. 11 at 7 p.m.
