Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Wheaton's Balanced Attack Leads Lyons To 4-1 Win Over Scots

Traveling to Norton, Massachusetts this afternoon for a non-conference matchup against Wheaton College, Gordon College Men's Soccer was bested by the host Lyons, 4-1, to drop to 1-7-1 overall on the season. The Lyons improved to 5-5-1 with the win.

How It Happened
  • Wheaton's Jack Brusso (Fr./Pawtucket, R.I.) put his squad on the board first as the freshman found the back of the net in the 20th minute to take the 1-0 lead. The home team added another before the end of the half as Charlie Stringer (So./Medford, Ore.) sent a feed to Ben DeSena (So./Glastonbury, Conn.) who lobbed it over Gordon's Wesley Sprague, doubling their lead to two goals.
  • The Lyons tacked on another two goals in the second before the Scots' Jacob Gagnon headed home a corner kick from Nate Boyer to put the Scots on the board and avoid the shutout.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Gordon returns home for a Homecoming contest with Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opponent The University of New England on Saturday, October 5 at 3 p.m. on The Quad.
  • Jacob Gagnon tallied his first collegiate career goal.
