Gordon College Men's Soccer hosted the Eagles of Husson University this evening for a non-conference matchup. The Scots secured the 3-1 win to improve their home record to 3-1-1 and overall record to 3-8-1. 

How it Happened

• The action started quickly as both teams forced a corner kick in the opening six minutes but neither team could convert. The action did not pick up again until the 30th minute when Gordon broke the silence as Ben Mollenhauer found teammate Luckson Dambo in the box. Dambo sent a low shot past the Eagles keeper to give the Scots a 1-0 advantage, which would be carried into halftime. 
• The Eagles evened the score 11 minutes into the second half when Ben Shumway (Fr./Dedham, Mass.) managed to sneak the ball past Scots keeper, Brody Veleber.
• The stalemate did not last long as Dambo gave his the team the lead again after converting on a pass from Jarvin Ramirez. Less than three minutes later Julius Swaim joined in on the action as he rocketed a rebound into the back of the net to give the Scots the 3-1 tilt. 
• Veleber closed out the last fourteen minutes of the game making three saves to solidify the 3-1 win for the Scots. 

The Scots are back in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action this Saturday as they welcome Western New England University for a 6 p.m. start. 

Beyond the Box Score

• Luckson Dambo's two-goal performance tonight marked the first of the season. 
• Jarvin Ramirez notched his first assist of the season when he found Dambo for the second goal of the game.
