- The Vikings netted a few timely baskets to bring themselves within three but the Scots widened the gap to 11 less than two minutes later thanks to another Demers' jumper.
- Both sides traded points for the remainder of the half with Gordon heading into the locker room up 47-41.
- Coming out of the half, SSU's Macdonald hit an "and one" to go up 48-47. Just under seven minutes into the second, the score was knotted at 54-all before Gordon catch fire offensively.Â
- Demers contributed 10 points to the Scots' 12-0 run to lead the Vikings by a score of 84-60 with 7:57 left in the frame. SSU cut the lead to 13 late but it wasn't enough as Gordon took the 95-78 victory.
Beyond The Box Score
- Benjamin North booked a career-high 13 points
- Eric Demers tied his career-high in points (41). The last time he scored 41 was February 2018 in a conference matchup against Western New England.
- Said Head Coach Tod Murphy: "It is always a good win when we beat Salem State. I respect their coach, Chris Harvey tremendously and the job he does there. Even without their leading scorer, they pushed us until the end. It also helps when you have Eric Demers hitting shots from the parking lot. Ben North also came up with a strong effort off the bench. It's always good going into the Thanksgiving break with a victory."
