In their final contest before Christmas Break, Gordon College Men's Basketball battled through two halves eventually falling to the visiting Plymouth State Panthers, 90-99. With the decision today, both squads' close out 2019 with a 5-4 record.
Eric Demers continued his offense streak with a 42-point performance,
Parker Omslaer had 21 points and 12 boards, while
Aljernod Terry booked nine points, five rebounds, and three steals.
For the Panthers, Jaylen LeRoy (Sr./Manchester, N.H.) spearheaded the effort with 31 points, Dante Rivera (So./Methuen, Mass.) had 27 points, and Manny Sanchez (So./Lawrence, Mass.) had 16 points.
How It Happened
- With 7:19 to go until the break, Plymouth State held an 18-point lead before the Fighting Scots began to chip away thanks to Terry, Omslaer, and Garrett Sattazahn who got the offensive ball rolling.
- Demers found his sweet spot as the senior captain scored 14 of the Scots' 17 points to cut the Panthers' lead to seven heading into the locker room.
- In the second, Terry brought the crowd to its feet with a monstrous dunk to make it a three-point game.
- Just over four minutes later, Demers drove to the basket to hitting a layup to score his 2,000th career point.
- Less than a minute later, Demers hit another three-pointer to cut the deficit to six but that was the closest the Scots would get as the Panthers took home the 99-90 victory.

- Eric Demers is the first Fighting Scot to score 2,000 points during his Fighting Scot tenure.
