How It Happened
- The Pilgrims got on the board first, with a goal from Hacking to open the game. Momentum switched back to Gordon as the Scots found the back of the net four straight times to lead 4-1. NEC cut the deficit in half after Connor Fries (Sr./Barnstable, Mass.) found teammate Reilly Parker (So./Laesboro, Mass.) to bring his squad within two. With just under three minutes remaining until the half, Matt Laurence put in a pass from Tozier, taking the 5-2 lead at half.
- Moen and Tozier each scored a goal within 30 seconds of each other to begin the third quarter, taking the 7-2 advantage early.Â
- The home team battled back with a goal by Fries and Hacking's second goal of the contest cut the lead to three but Moen tossed in his third just 40 seconds later, making it 8-4 in favor of the blue and white. Â
- Both squads added a pair of goals each in the final frame, with Gordon taking home the 10-6 victory.
